Workshops and performing are an integral part of the learning process. Students will be offered multiple opportunities to perform as part of the curriculum. Playing for each other in the workshops, students will learn from one another and from the experience of playing for a knowledgeable yet sympathetic audience. The frequent exposure to public performing is key to building a communicative way of playing as well as stage presence.
Intelligent practice will lead to growth and change in a matter of days, and good habits are brought to the subconscious automatic level in short order. For these reasons, students are encouraged to take two lessons per week to keep the pace of learning fast and motivation at a high level.
The results are students who are happy, well balanced and playing the violin well. They are equipped to take part in musical activities and make contributions to orchestras and chamber groups as well as place well at auditions and competitions. Students of Mr. Green have participated in the Boston University Tanglewood Institute the Summit Music Festival, Eastern Regional Honors Orchestra, All State orchestras in Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well as being finalists and winners of competitions.
