Matthew Daniel Green brings a wide range of perspectives as well as over twenty years of experience to his teaching. The key influences on Mr. Green's playing and teaching include Maestro Aaron Rosand, whose own roots lead directly back to Ysaye, Auer, and Sevcik; Miguel Negri, student of Yehudi Menuhin; the renowned teachers Zinaida Gilels and Magdalena Richter; and Rudolf Baumgartner and Gunars Larsens, conductor and concertmaster of the Festival Strings Lucerne in Switzerland. He also studied with George Neikrug, the preeminent exponent of the methods of the great D. C. Dounis; Masuko Ushioda, student of Joseph Szigeti; as well as Robert Rozek, student of Ivan Galamian; and Victor Romanul, student of Galamian and Jascha Heifetz; and Nancy Cirillo, student of Louis Persinger. Mr. Green attended the Nathan Milstein masterclasses in Zurich, and the Aaron Rosand masterclasses in Nice. He is currently a student in Maestro Rosand's private studio. As a lifetime learner, Mr. Green keeps the ability to see things from the perspectives of both apprentice and master.
Mr. Green has performed recitals at the New England Conservatory, and for the Manchester Chamber players as well as in various venues in New England and Switzerland. He has performed as a soloist with the Greater Manchester Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra and also with the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, where he served for five years as concertmaster. He has done recordings, tours, and numerous concerts with Collegium Musicum Zurich under the baton of the illustrious Paul Sacher. Currently, he is a member of the Hanover Chamber Orchestra, under the leadership of conductor Daniel Perkins. In addition, he has performed with legends such as Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, the Irish Tenors, Donna Summer, Marvin Hamlisch, Mannheim Steamroller, and others. An avid trader of rare coins, he serves as vice president of Blue Diamond Gold Exchange. He is also the founder and leader of Ensemble Aevia and the inventor of the C-Clip®, an accessory to protect the violin. |
